Hi my name is Ashlea Armstrong

Throughout my life children’s orthodontics has been a consistent dream. As college approaches my dream is becoming a reality.  This is my story:

My family has been traveling back and forth from North Carolina to upstate New York for over 60 years and I’m a 4th generation summer commuter.  During the summer months we operate a family business for the visitors in upstate New York. The  region is filled with travelers and tourists from around the world.

During high school my life has been like any other American teenager filled with academic studies, softball, cheerleading, church clubs, and much more.   When the family leaves North Carolina for New York, my teenage activities are put on hold to contribute to the family business.

Learning to adjust to a completely different lifestyle was challenging and incredibly life changing.  Becoming a young adult with the location of the family business, allowed me to learn about the diverse backgrounds of different nationalities including the various parts of the United States.

It amazed me meeting people with the cross section of backgrounds and experiences.  Because they could learn several languages, start over in new places and have successful careers, I was inspired to try even harder to expand my academic horizons and achievements.

Desiring to become an orthodontist has been a goal throughout my life that has never wavered.  The question became, "How to achieve the goal?".   Going into a professional field that requires many years of college and medical school then realizing the expense required created this web site. My family is very important to me, but to achieve the entire academic education needed to become an orthodontist is financially daunting. My family has consistently supported me emotionally to pursue becoming an orthodontist knowing at the end of school, my degree in hand I would give back to all who helped me ten fold.  Confident and ready, with financial help my orthodontic dream will become a reality.

                                                                               Thank you,

                                                                                Ashlea Armstrong
